The hamlet of Badiaccia Montemuro
If “far from the madding crowd” appeals to you, do not miss the hamlet of Badiaccia Montemuro, just 7 km uphill from Radda. You drive surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, you pass Albola magnificent estate and you are nearly there. The views are spectacular and you’ll enjoy walking around undisturbed in a perfectly relaxed atmosphere between the green hills and the infinite Chianti sky. Last but not least, at the entrance of the village there is an Osteria where the food is just what you wish to find, deliciously “home cooked”.
Tuscan ceramics open in Radda
Tuscan handmade ceramics are prized all over the world and visitors always wish to bring back home beautiful dinnerware and home decor pottery.
It is important then to remember that many artisans and small factories offer products that suffer from standardisation and represent the average “made in Italy” majolica.
It takes time before finding a creative, contemporary studio of a true artist: a master is Radda based Angela Pianigiani. Her studio, La Ceramica, is in località Malpensata and you’ll find there her plates, bowls, jugs and vases. They are beautiful and within reach.
